Christy Walker provides career assistance to undergraduates, graduate students and alumni in the health and science fields. Prior to her position at UCS, Christy served as an Academic Advisor at UNC-Chapel Hill where she worked with students majoring in the natural sciences, mathematics, and health professions. She also worked as an Academic and Career Advisor at James Madison University where she served in a dual role as an academic advisor and career counselor.  Christy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. After working as an environmental chemist and as an engineer, she realized that she enjoyed working with college students and decided to pursue a career in a university setting. She earned a Masters of Science in Education in Higher Education from Old Dominion University.  Christy’s loves music, and performs recitals and plays hand bells at a local church. For the past 11 years, she has run a website that showcases marching bands at HBCU’s, and has also created a podcast about these bands.
