Laura Lane

Laura Lane is the Career Counselor for English, Communication Studies, Comparative Literature, Linguistics and Journalism majors and has over 15 years of experience in career services. Laura hails from North Carolina and is a graduate of UNC with a bachelor’s degree in English. She received her Masters degree in Student Development in Higher Education from American University. Laura has worked in public relations in the publishing industry, in training and development, and in a variety of areas in higher education, including development, alumni relations, and career services. Currently, she is serving as President of the North Carolina Career Development Association (NCCDA).  Her greatest satisfaction comes from helping students find their true career path. When not at UNC, Laura is active with her family either rooting for the Tar Heels in some athletic event or participating in a sporting event, tennis being her first choice. Like all good English majors, she loves to read.
