About UCS

UCS Non-Profits/Arts Internship Stipend

Most students realize that in order to be competitive in the job market they need to have an internship related to their chosen field before they graduate. For students wishing to pursue careers in the Non-Profit and Arts sectors, internships may be even more important than in other fields. However, many students need to earn money during the summer, and Non-Profit internships often are unpaid.

In response to this need, University Career Services is offering several stipends up to $1000 to support students who perform summer internships with Non-Profit and Arts organizations for which they are receiving no other funding or pay.

Important Dates

Online applications, as well as other required materials, are due at UCS, Granville Towers South, no later than 5pm on March 31, 2008.

Applicants will be notified of their status by April 7, 2008.

Who may apply

All UNC-CH undergraduate students who are returning in the Fall semester and who have a serious interest in pursuing careers in Non-Profits or the Arts are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to rising seniors.

Stipends will be awarded to students based on the strength of their qualifications, proposals, and letters of reference. Proposals will be judged on their educational and career value and feasibility. UCS resources are available to assist students in locating appropriate internship sites.
