Harris is the Director of University Career Services. A graduate of Vassar College and North Carolina State University, she has been with UNC-Chapel Hill since 1982. Prior to that time, Ms. Harris was employed at North Carolina State University and Meredith College. She has also worked in the insurance and advertising industries. Ms. Harris is co-author of "The Parent's Crash Course in Career Planning" (published by Career Dimensions, 2007; available at http://www.lulu.com). Tim Stiles Associate Director / Business Administration Career Advisor Phone: 919-962-7887 Email: tstiles@email.unc.edu Tim Stiles is the Associate Director and Career Counselor for undergraduate students in Business. He holds a Master's degree in Counseling from the Indiana University and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Indiana University. Before coming to UNC-Chapel Hill, he was Director of Career Services at Franklin College of Indiana. He has also worked in career services at Indiana University-Bloomington and North Carolina State University. He was previously an accountant for Pennzoil Company in Houston, TX. Mr. Stiles works with undergad business majors and serves as a resource for any student interested in pursuing a Master's of Business Administration (MBA) degree. He is coordinator of the Carolina Career Fair and the undergraduate First Destination Survey. Students, schedule an appointment with Mr. Stiles. Jeff Sackaroff Associate Director / Liberal Arts Career Advisor Phone: 919-962-7658 Email: sackarof@email.unc.edu Jeff Sackaroff is the Associate Director and provides career counseling to students in selected liberal arts majors. He holds a Master's degree in counseling from NC State University and a BS in Psychology from the University of Tennessee. Prior to coming to UNC-CH, he served as the Director of Undergraduate Career Services for the College of Management at NC State University. His background also includes experience in recruiting, human resources, and teen counseling. Students, schedule an appointment with Mr. Sackaroff. Jacquelyn Gist Assistant Director / Non-Profits, Social Work and Student Athletes Career Advisor Phone: 919-962-6656 Email: jmgist@email.unc.edu Jacquelyn M. Gist, Career Counselor and liaison to employers in Non-Profits, Social Work and student athletes, received both her bachelor's and master's degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill. She has been with University Career Services since 1992. Before coming to UCS, Ms. Gist worked as the Coordinator for the Inter-Faith Council Homeless Shelter and as a Social Worker for the ARC. Ms. Gist also serves as a member of the Town of Carrboro Board of Aldermen. Students, schedule an appointment with Ms. Gist. Suzanne Harbour Assistant Director for Career Exploration Phone: 919-843-0843 Email: sharbour@email.unc.edu Sue Harbour is the Assistant Director for Career Exploration. She counsels students in the career planning & exploration process. She holds a M.S. in Counseling from California State University, Long Beach and a B.A. in Sociology from California State University, San Bernardino. She has worked in higher education for over twelve years. Prior to coming to Carolina, she was a Counselor in Career Services at the University of California, Riverside for nine years. Ms. Harbour's previous employment includes working in Academic Advising and Student Development as well as being a Educator and Counselor in the California Private education system. Students, schedule an appointment with Ms. Harbour. Marian Holmes Assistant Director / Sciences and Health Sciences Career Advisor Phone: 919-962-7994 Email: mcholmes@email.unc.edu Marian C. Holmes combines a background as a health professional with training in guidance and counseling to provide assistance to undergraduates, graduate students and alumni in health and science areas. She serves as liaison to employers who seek to hire graduates in these areas as well as minority student liaison. She also coordinates the Diversity Career Fair and the Nursing Job Fair. She received a Masters degree from N.C. Central University and has been at UCS since 1983. Students, schedule an appointment with Ms. Holmes. Sharon Jones Assistant Director / Math/Technical, Education, College Teaching & Information/Library Science Career Advisor Phone: 919-962-6622 Email: sljones@email.unc.edu Sharon Jones is the Assistant Director for students in Technical Areas, Information & Library Sciences, Education, and College Teaching. She has been with UNC for 14 years, and has experience with a human resources consulting firm, the oil industry, and the military. She earned an M.S. in Industrial Relations from Purdue University’s Graduate School of Management. Laura Lane Assistant Director / Communication Studies, English and Journalism Career Advisor Phone: 919-962-6984 Email: lrlane@email.unc.edu Laura Lane is the Career Counselor for English, Communication Studies, Comparative Literature, Linguistics and Journalism majors. Ms. Lane also acts as liaison to employers seeking students in these degrees. She received her Masters degree from American University and her bachelor degree in English from UNC. Emily Strader Student Employment Coordinator / Arts Counselor Phone: 919-843-0844 Email: estrader@email.unc.edu Emily Strader has been with University Career Services since January 2005 as the Student Employment Coordinator. Her major role is to assist students find part –time jobs (non-work study). Ms. Strader also counsels students who are interested in pursuing a career in the Arts. Ms. Strader received her undergraduate from James Madison University and her Master’s degree in career counseling from North Carolina Central University. Taylor, the Career Planning Counselor at University Career Services, counsels students who are in various stages of the career planning process. A graduate of North Carolina Central University and Kansas State University, she has been employed with UNC-Chapel Hill since 1990. She received a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from Boston College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development/Sociology from Binghamton University in New York. Before coming to UNC – Chapel Hill, Ms. Williams worked with the Recruiting and Internship Programs in the Boston College Career Center, as well as holding positions in a variety of other Student Affairs offices.
