Career Services will make every effort to keep adverse weather from negatively
affecting our operations. However, Chapel Hill is occasionally affected
by weather systems that can disrupt our normal activities and services.
If there is any change in our normal operations, we will
attempt to keep our homepage updated with specific
information about the status of scheduled events, on-campus recruiting,
office closure, etc. You may also check the status of the University on
the main UNC-Chapel Hill website
(if there are any interruptions to normal operations because of adverse
weather, there will be a link on the left side menu) or by calling the
Adverse Weather Hotline, 919-843-1234.
Please see below for general guidelines about our adverse
weather policies.
- If the University is CLOSED (classes cancelled and offices closed),
the UCS office will be closed and ALL activities sponsored by UCS for
that day will be cancelled.
- If CLASSES ARE CANCELLED but University offices are open, we will
cancel all activities scheduled for that day WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CAMPUS
INTERVIEWS.
Activities include (but are not limited to) career fairs, Networking
Nights, workshops, career panels, and employer information sessions.
If any event is cancelled, we will make every effort to reschedule that
event. Information about cancelled and/or rescheduled events will be
emailed to students and will be posted on our website at a later date.
Students: If you cannot make it to an interview due to weather conditions,
you MUST CALL the UCS Reception Desk at 919-962-6507 and let us
know so that we may inform the recruiter. It may be possible to make
other arrangements for your interview.
