Having been a transfer student at Carolina meant being behind from day one. While the other students were already acclimated to Carolina life, I was still trying to navigate the campus. Truth be told, I was even 20 minutes late to my first class ever at Carolina.

My first two years of college were a real struggle. I had horrible study habits carried over from high school which didn't require much effort and yielded good grades. Needless to say, this method did not serve me well in my college courses.

My name is Kerry Townsend and I'm originally from Severna Park, Maryland. I'm getting a B.S. in Math as well as a minor in Cognitive Science. I transferred to UNC from Villanova University and I'm so glad I made that decision!
