Certificate in Career Development
Sponsored by Philip Morris USA
Last Updated for Spring 2008, 1/7/2008

Current and Incoming Students:

Thanks to a generous grant from Philip Morris USA, University Career Services has established a program that will allow you to explore career opportunities and plan career goals in a more structured way. Upon completion of this program, you will receive a Certificate in Career Development* that demonstrates your commitment to your future. The certificate documents for future employers your conscientious efforts in career planning.

While the program must be completed prior to graduation, you can earn this Certificate in two years or less. The few requirements are simple and can be completed in any order, although we recommend that you begin with your Interest Assessment and a visit to the Career Clinic.

Since the Certificate has been designed to demonstrate a broad perspective of the career exploration/job search process, each module must be fulfilled by those events or tasks selected to give you an understanding of that topic. Completing multiple activities in one category, attending other UCS events or utilizing additional UCS services, while valuable to your career education, will not provide "extra credit" towards completion of the Certificate.

* Note that this is a non-credit bearing certificate that will not be included on your transcript.

Requirements for Completion

Please note that if you have already completed any of the modules, you can receive credit for your participation.

Printable worksheet is also available (in PDF).
