Partner with UCS: IMPACT
IMPACT is a program designed to help
students gain summer career-related experience by working as an intern
(either paid or unpaid
for a Carolina parent. Through IMPACT, Carolina parents or their work
organization provide an internship for a Carolina student (other than
her/his own). In the words of one Carolina parent, “We have had
three interns from UNC and each time, the students have been excellent
employees. We are grateful that we can participate in the IMPACT program.”
- IMPACT is open to open to all levels of students
- IMPACT internships may be paid or unpaid, in any career
field.
- Students may apply for academic credit for their experience.
- Parents/employers may request specific academic majors,
if desired.
- Internships may involve a special project or on-going
responsibilities
- Parents
complete an internship-listing form.
- UCS collects resumes and
forwards them to the parent.
- UCS recommends (but does not require)
that interviews be conducted (at UCS or your organization) prior
to selecting the student.
- Near the end or the internship, UCS sends an evaluation
for the host to provide feedback.
If you are interested in participating,
please contact the Internship Coordinator.
