As you transition from being a student to
being an employee, special issues arise which should be carefully managed.
- It is important for you to try to ensure
that the job search resources you use and the employers you interact
with are legitimate
and that the information requested is appropriate.
- Be knowledgeable and prepared for various
employer screening tools such as pre-employment testing and drug
testing, since the results
of these tests will determine whether or not you will be considered
further for employment.
- Coping with rejection from employers and
maintaining your motivation and energy during a grueling job search
may be one of toughest challenges
you will have to face.
- Learning correct business protocol will pay
off both in your job search and late as you advance in your career.
University Career Services counselors are available to assist you with
your transition into the workforce. Good luck!
