Job Offers Evaluating a Job
Offer | Choosing between Offers This may be the first offer for employment that you have ever received. If you are one of the lucky ones, you may be trying to compare multiple offers. In either case, it is important to know how to evaluate a job offer. Consider the work that you will be doing, organizational culture and fit with your interests and values, geographic area, salary, and other factors before making your decision to accept or reject an offer. UCS counselors are available to meet with you to discuss your offers. The vast majority of students have little or no bargaining power to negotiate a better offer. In extremely rare instances, candidates with several years of work experience may be able to negotiate salary, sign-on bonus, relocation allowances, and other items included in a job offer. Consult with a UCS counselor to see if it is even feasible to proceed with negotiation. Questions, comments? Email us
