- Students must be currently enrolled in a degree-granting
program at UNC-Chapel Hill and must not be in the MBA, MAC, law, medical,
or dental programs. Eligible students are automatically authorized to
register with UCS online. (If you are unable to
register, please review the list of common reasons students are unable
to register or log in.)
We also recommend attending a HOW
TO FIND A JOB AFTER GRADUATION or a HOW TO FIND AN INTERNSHIP workshop
during the fall or spring semesters.
- Eligible alumni receive service without charge until
six months after graduation from UNC Chapel Hill. After the six month
period has passed, alumni who have been awarded a degree from UNC Chapel
Hill within the past five years can register
to use UCS' services by paying an annual fee of $65.00.
- Students and Alumni receiving MBA, MAC, law, medical,
and dental degrees are served by the career offices of those programs,
rather than UCS.
You must read and agree to abide by the standards
outlined in the Student Agreement for Use of University Career Services
before registering or logging into the UCS
Registration System.
Log into the Registration
System to upload your resume(s). Click on "resumes & cover
letters" and then click on "Add New" follow
the prompts to upload your resume.
When you upload a new resume into the system
it will go into a Holding Bin for our review. Counselors review resumes
daily for basic issues such as complete information and acceptable appearance
(although that is not intended to be a substitute for a full resume critique).
We strongly recommend that you have your resume critiqued by a UCS counselor
before submitting it to the UCS system. You will receive an email informing
you of the resume's status after a counselor has reviewed it.
Note: Your resume's formatting may
change once you upload it into the system. Be sure to view your resume
once you have uploaded it in order to see how it will appear to employers.
If it does not look like the way you intended, you will need to correct
the problem on your original document (try adjusting your margins and
using tabs to align your resume instead of the space bar) and update your
resume.
To register with UCS, students must be currently enrolled in a degree-granting
program* at UNC-Chapel Hill and must not be in the MBA, MAC, law, medical,
or dental programs. (Students and Alumni receiving MBA, MAC, law, medical,
and dental degrees are served by the career offices of those programs,
rather than UCS.)
NOTE: UCS does not serve students enrolled through
Continuing Studies or Independent Studies. We also do not serve students
enrolled in an off-campus studies program, visiting students, or students
enrolled in summer school only.
- The first time you register, you must enter your
PID# as BOTH your USERNAME and PASSWORD to initiate the registration
page. When entering your PID#, make sure you are entering only the numbers,
no dashes or spaces.
- We are only able to automatically update
our authorization file a few times a year so your PID may not yet be
authorized. Please send an email to career@unc.edu
with your full name and PID so we can research your situation.
(Students beginning their course of study in the Fall are eligible to
use University Career Services after the spring semester has ended,
once they have enrolled in their fall classes. We will not do a comprehensive
update of our authorization file until mid to late August, so students
beginning their course of study in the fall or summer must request authorization
individually.)
We will be glad to authorize or reactivate your account after the spring
semester has ended. We will not do a comprehensive update of our authorization
file until August, so you will need to send an email to career@unc.edu
with your full name and PID so we can authorize you to register. NOTE:
If you plan to graduate in August, but do not receive your degree or
enroll in an eligible program in the fall, you will be deactivated at
the end of August.
- You will need to send an email to career@unc.edu
so we can authorize you to register. If you graduated more than 6 months
ago, there is a $65 annual fee to access our systems. Further details
available in our Alumni section.
- We only
do periodic updates of our authorization file, so if your degree was
offiically posted outside the normal award period, you will need to
let us know so we can authorize you manually. Please send an email to
career@unc.edu so we can authorize you
to register.
You are eligible to register for on-campus interviewing only, during
the length of your appointment. Chemistry post-doctoral students are
not automatically authorized. Please send an email to career@unc.edu
so we can authorize you to register.
We allow foreign exchange students to register with us to view job postings
(although we do not allow you to participate in on-campus interviewing).
Foreign exchange students are not automatically authorized. Please send
an email to career@unc.edu so we can authorize
you to register.
Please review the Student
Account Deactivation policy.
If your PID# or login does not allow you into the
system and you are an eligible student (currently enrolled in a degree-granting
program that UCS serves), please send an email to career@unc.edu
so we can investigate the problem. Please
include your full name and PID in any correspondence so that we can identify
