Roark Capital Group, a leading middle-market private equity with over $7 billion of equity capital raised since inception, is recruiting Summer Analyst positions at UNC. Roark will be hosting an info session Monday August 28th in Graham Memorial, Room 039 at 6pm. All class years are welcome, though the recruiting focus will be on juniors.
Roark is based out of Atlanta and is one of largest restaurant/consumer-focused private equity firms in the country, having acquired 60 franchise/multi-unit brands since inception. Last year, Roark’s brands generated $24 billion in system sales from 27,000 locations in 50 states and 78 countries. Roark’s brands are highly recognizable within the restaurant, retail, and fitness spaces, and include (among others): Jimmy Johns, Arby’s, Dry Bar, Orangetheory Fitness, and Pet Supermarket. Roark’s recruitment model is a little different than other private equity firms. As you may know, most private equity firms target first-year analysts at investment banks. Roark has traditionally identified talent through an internship program, which has led to full-time offers after graduation. High-performing analysts are retained and promoted to the associate position from within. Roark is likely one of a handful of PE firms with this model (out of a universe of 2000+), so this is a unique opportunity for college students that are interested in private equity, finance, and investing.
