U.S. Office of Disability Employment Policy (Accommodations): Under Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a reasonable accommodation is a modification or adjustment to a job, the work environment, or the way things are usually done during the hiring process. The ADA requires reasonable accommodations as they relate to three aspects of employment: 1) ensuring equal opportunity in the application process; 2) enabling a qualified individual with a disability to perform the essential functions of a job; and 3) making it possible for an employee with a disability to enjoy equal benefits and privileges of employment.

Autism Goes to College: Provides resources for students, including articles, podcasts, and video clips.

Lime Connect - A global 501(c)(3) not for profit that's "rebranding" disability through achievement. Through their private online community, they connect high-achieving students and professionals with disabilities - members of our Lime Network - to their broader network of corporate and university partners.

Leading Disability Employers: The NOD Leading Disability Employer Seal serves as a platform to spotlight the transformative contributions made by business leaders in promoting equal employment for individuals with disabilities. It also honors those organizations that prioritize diversity, equity and importantly, accessibility–setting a high standard for others to follow.

LiNC-IT: Recruits autistic talent for work experience with its employer partners. The work experience can be an internship, on the job training, or a direct hire.

Workforce Recruitment Program: WRP is a recruitment and referral program that connects federal and private-sector employers nationwide with highly motivated college students and recent graduates with disabilities who are eager to demonstrate their abilities in the workplace through summer or permanent jobs.

Neurodiversity in Business: NiB is a business-led forum functioning as an industry group for organisations to share industry good practice on ND recruitment, retention and empowerment.

Disability:IN NextGen Leaders: College students and recent graduates with disabilities. Students are matched one-on-one with mentors from Disability:IN Corporate Partners across all industries.

Entry Point Internships: Identifies and recruits students with apparent and non-apparent disabilities studying in science, engineering, mathematics, computer science, and some fields of business for internship and co-op opportunities.

abilityJOBS:  Includes a resume bank and job board for people with disabilities. The site has resources for both job seekers and employers. In addition, there is a link specifically for United States Veterans with Disabilities.

Career Opportunities For Students With Disabilities:  Provides students and recent graduates with essential tools and information needed to establish their careers and secure positions. Resources include regularly updated job postings, tools for building your network, and a dedicated area for employers searching for candidates. In addition to the student section, there is also a section for professionals.

Emerging Leaders: The emerging leaders program is highly competitive internship placement program for high achieving undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities.  The program also includes leadership development and networking opportunities. The program is coordinated by the National Business & Disability Council, which also has a website with resources for job seekers.

The Job Accommodation Network (JAN):  Provides free consulting services including information about workplace accommodations, the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), and resources for job seekers.

recruitABILITY:  Features approximately 350,000 jobs across the country from employers that are proactive in recruiting job seekers with disabilities. Job postings can be searched by field of interest.

The Emerging Leaders Summer Internship Program for College Students with Disabilities - The Emerging Leaders Internship Program for College Students with Disabilities, funded by The UPS Foundation and coordinated by the National Business & Disability Council (NBDC) at The Viscardi Center, is a highly competitive program that places top undergraduate and graduate college students with disabilities in fulfilling internships nationwide that also provide them with meaningful leadership development and networking opportunities.

North Carolina Resources

NC Health and Human Services: The North Carolina division of disability services assists people with disabilities in finding employment.

Disability Right North Carolina: The employment section of the site includes information on employment rights of person with disabilities amongst other resources.

We Connect Now is dedicated to uniting people interested in rights and issues affecting people with disabilities, with particular emphasis on college students and access to higher education and employment issues.

UNC Resources

Accessibility Resources & Service:  Campus office for students with disabilities and medical conditions that provides a number of resources and services including coordinating and implementing appropriate accommodations to meet student needs.

Active Minds at Carolina: A student organization with a mission to change the conversation about mental health on college campuses.
