At the UNC Career Center, we believe that career development is core to fostering students thriving and succeeding – and we know that faculty and staff are central to helping students find their path, in the classroom and beyond the tassel.
BECOME A CAREER CHAMPION
In 2024, we launched the Career Champions Network of faculty and staff who can serve as career mentors in a student’s chosen field of study. Each semester, we offer training sessions that will give you a deeper understanding of available career resources on campus and enable you to guide students effectively to the right resource at the right moment.
Spring 2026 Career Champion Training Dates
- Monday, February 9th | 9:00-11:AM (Virtual)
- Tuesday, March 17th | 2:00-4:00PM (Hanes Hall)
- Tuesday, April 28th | 10:00AM-12:00PM (Hanes Hall)
Career Champions training will enable you to:
- Gain practical insights into career exploration and professional development resources.
- Understand how to support students in finding internships and jobs, networking opportunities, and graduate school resources.
- Be recognized as a Career Champion: a trusted resource on campus with valuable knowledge to support students with career and professional development.
- Meet UNC Career Center staff and begin to build strong, collaborative relationships with the career education and employer engagement teams.
- Gain access to additional professional development opportunities through the Career Champions network.
Custom Workshops for Your Department
The UNC Career Center is delighted to continue providing comprehensive career education services to faculty, staff, and student organizations! Workshops can cover various topics such as LinkedIn, interviewing skills, salary negotiation, budgeting, life after Carolina, gap year planning, and navigating graduate and law school processes.
