Keynote Speaker:
Dr. Ken Sanney
Director, School of Accounting at Western Carolina University

Dr. Ken Sanney is a leader at the intersection of law, cybersecurity, higher education, and AI policy and integration. Currently, he serves as a Professor of Business administration and Law, Director of the School of Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, and Business Law, and as the AI Working Group Chairperson at Western Carolina University. He teaches cybersecurity law, Intellectual Property Law, Negotiations, and Business Ethics. 

Ken holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Vanderbilt University Law School and a Master of Theological Studies with a concentration in ethics from Vanderbilt University Divinity School. Prior to joining the faculty of Western Carolina University, Ken was the founding Department Chairperson for the Entrepreneurship Department at Central Michigan University. He also served on the Board of Directors of a Michigan Smart Zone business incubator and accelerator. 

Ken's extensive legal background complements his academic experience. While serving as Mitsubishi Motors North America's Director of Business Transactions and Deputy General Counsel, he led the modernization efforts of the company's procurement systems with AI-assisted technology, providing him with valuable real-world AI application insights. He was also at the forefront of industry-wide privacy initiatives. His diverse experience as a corporate executive and attorney, litigator, entertainment attorney, and specially appointed judge provides a unique perspective on technology's transformative impact. 

A visionary thought leader in AI policy and integration, Ken is dedicated to preparing students for the future workforce and supporting colleagues in navigating technological advances. His broad experience and forward-thinking approach make him a vital voice on AI, education, and the evolving labor market.
