On-Campus Interviews
On-campus interviews at UNC Chapel Hill provide employers with direct access to a talented pool of students eager to make an impact in their respective fields. These interviews facilitate seamless interaction between employers and candidates, enabling companies to find the right fit for their organizational needs. By participating in University Career Service's on-campus interview recruitment program, employers can efficiently identify top talent and foster long-term professional relationships.
Interview Logistics & Process
Where? On-campus interviews are conducted in the UCS Interview Suite, the 4th floor in Hanes Hall. The entire floor contains 7 interview rooms, which employers can request to use to conduct their interviews. Pictures included above.
Who? Employers from all industries and sizes are welcome to schedule on-campus interviews. Regardless of company size or whether your organization was recently founded as a start-up, we invite all employers to host interviews in the UCS Interview Suite. In the description of your interview slot, you can indicate what student populations or majors you are looking to recruit.
When? For the Fall semester, on-campus interviews typically occur between late August to early December. For the Spring semester, they typically occur between early January to late April. You will find the interview schedules listed on Handshake under the "Request Interview Schedule" tab. We encourage employers to schedule interviews around career fair season, during pre-scheduled on-campus visits, and prior to the end of classes.
How to Request an Interview Schedule
Once your Handshake account is created, you can create and request an on-campus interview with University Career Services. Here are instructions on how to request University Career Services' interview schedule.
- Click on Interviews from the left navigation bar, then click Request Interview Schedule from the upper-right corner of the page
- On the Basics tab, complete the following fields: Add "University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill" under What school would you like to interview at? Complete the fields, Who from your company will be attending this interview? Interview Schedule Name? Interview Schedule Description?
- Click the Timeline tab, and select the date you would like to interview applicants. Click the displayed "Week of DATE" to choose a future date quickly, or use the arrows in the upper-middle of the page to navigate week by week.
- Complete the Date, Requested room count, Details
- Once the fields are completed, click the blue button Add Date in the lower-right corner.
- Next, choose your preferred timeline, which are pre-defined timelines provided by UCS.
- Timelines determine how students can sign up for interview slots. Check out Which interview timeline should I request?.
- Once your timeline is selected, select your interview time slot template, which are pre-defined templates provided by UCS.
- When finished, click the Jobs tab. Select a job(s) to attach to the interview schedule from the dropdown. If you want to create a new job to attach, click the white blue Create a new job. If you are not ready to post a position, you can click the blue button Next, then the green button Request to submit your request.
- Once the job(s) is attached, click the Review tab. Review and edit any details as necessary, then click the green button Request.

Mailing Packages to Hanes Hall
If you would like to mail your package to Hanes Hall, our office will receive it on your behalf in advance of your visit to campus. Company representatives must mark their package with "On-Campus Interview" on the package. You can mail their packages to the following address:
