Funding Opportunities
University Career Services partners with UNC donors and the Office of Scholarships & Student Aid to provide funding support to students participating in professional development experiences such as internships, professional conferences, networking events and more. At this time, all funding applications are closed and will not open until spring 2024. However, there are other departments that offer funding. Embark Carolina offers funding for those seeking access to global experiences, and the Honors Carolina Fellowship helps students who want to conduct research in Chapel Hill or create their own unique learning experience and travel the world. Additionally, the Carolina Covenant Professional Development Grant and International Student's office within the Office of Scholarships & Student Aid offer support.
Styled for Success
Styled for Success provides funding for the purchase of one professional outfit to UNC juniors, seniors, and graduate students (except MBA, [email protected], MAC, Law, Medical, or Dental programs, which are served by separate career offices) who are currently receiving need-based financial aid, and are actively involved in an internship or job search. Funding ranges from $300-$700 and students are required to detail their attire needs in the application. If you do not have a FAFSA on file with the Office of Scholarships & Student Aid, you do not qualify and should not apply for this stipend. Approved funds will only be awarded once during your tenure at UNC.
The application is closed until the fall 2023 semester begins.

Undergraduate students who receive need-based financial aid, and who will be returning to UNC in the fall semester, are eligible to apply after an internship offer has been confirmed. Amounts range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, depending on an applicant's proposed budget and level of financial need.
The application is now closed and will reopen during the spring 2024 semester.
C-STEP Summer Stipend
All C-STEP students currently enrolled at UNC-CH, returning for the Fall 2023 semester, and who have obtained an unpaid internship or will partake in an unpaid experiential learning (study abroad, internship, research, volunteer service) experience. Preference will be given to C-STEP students with graduation dates no sooner than December 2023. See below to apply. The application is now closed and will reopen during the spring 2024 semester.
