Applying to the UNC Kenan-Flagler Undergraduate Business Program

Considering a business major at UNC? This page will guide you through where to find official Kenan-Flagler application information, how to explore business-related majors and career paths, and how the UNC Career Center can support your growth — whether you apply to the Business School or not.

Start with Kenan-Flagler’s Admissions Advising Team

The Kenan-Flagler Undergraduate Business Program oversees its own admissions process. The Career Center is not involved in application review, essay feedback, or eligibility determinations.

If you have questions about deadlines, requirements, prerequisites, or essay prompts, the best place to start is with the Kenan-Flagler Undergraduate Admissions Team:

‼️ Note: It is expected that you will have reviewed the BUSI Talk series recordings before attending virtual drop-ins, as most general questions can be addressed through the videos.

Is Business the Right Major for You?

UNC students build successful careers in business through many different majors — not just Kenan-Flagler. The key is to identify your interests, build relevant experience, and develop transferable skills.

Ask Yourself:

  • What values or impact do I want my career to reflect?
  • What types of projects energize me?
  • Do I enjoy working with people, numbers, ideas — or all three?

A great place to start exploring business skills and practice areas is with a Kenan-Flagler Undergraduate Club!

Real Experience, Real Skills: More Than Just Internships

Many students develop the skills valued by business schools and employers not just through internships, but also through part-time jobs, leadership roles, research, volunteering, and other campus involvement.

While internships can be a great way to gain professional experience, they’re just one of many meaningful paths to building business-ready skills during your time at UNC.
